Four held with illegal pharmaceutical drugs in Morang

Police in Morang district arrested four persons in possession of illegal pharmaceutical drugs like 17 ampules of diazelap, phenergan, avil, and lupijesic on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrested have been identified as Rikal Koirala (25), Keshab Gurung (24), Bishal Gurung (27), and Suraj Gurung (35), all local residents of Belbari Municipality-1.

They were riding on two motorcycles with vehicle registration numbers KO 17 PA 472 and KO 30 PA 561. Belbari-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed them with the substances during a routine vehicle check. They had hidden the substances in a plastic bag coated with tape.

Meanwhile, police arrested a youth in possession of 40 milligrams of heroin from Golbazar Municipality-4 on Wednesday morning.

The arrested has been identified as Aashish Kumar Shah (24), a local resident of Golbazar in Siraha district.

Shah was allegedly consuming the heroin in the field behind his home. Acting on a tip-off, Golbazar-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed him with the substance.

Further investigation into the case is being carried out, said the police.
