The Government of Nepal is going to send a 'medical team' and essential materials for the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of those affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey. The decision was taken by the tenth meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council held at the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday afternoon.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" said that since Turkey is a good friend of Nepal, it should provide possible support from Nepal. He said, "Nepal is our good friend. Yesterday, when we were in trouble, the Turkish government helped us. We should also help the Turkish government in its suffering. So let's help by sending teams and technical equipment as soon as possible.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, Chief Secretary Shankardas Bairagi, Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma, and other officials and members of the committee were present in the meeting. The meeting has decided to make the necessary preparations and send the medical team, medical materials, logistic materials, and food materials suitable for the environment of Turkey as soon as possible.
