Govt committed to deliver services to people through good governance: Minister Gurung

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhanraj Gurung, has said the government was committed to delivering services to the people by establishing good governance.

Responding to queries raised in course of deliberations on the Appropriation Bill, 2080, in today's meeting of the House of Representatives, Minister Gurung mentioned, "The first priority of the government is to move ahead carrying out fair investigation on corruption cases, maintaining good governance and providing services to the people."

Impunity should not be given to anyone involved in corruption, he underscored, adding the Ministry was serious on the issue of making justice delivery prompt and smooth.

"I want to assure that the Ministry will provide justice to the people in an easy and smooth manner by appointing capable judges forwarding appointment process as soon as possible," added Minister Gurung.

He said the judiciary has made necessary arrangement to make justice delivery easy and smooth through its strategic plan and programme.

Authority has been given to the District Court to take action and finalize the cases under Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 as well as cases related to cheque bouncing under the Banking Offense and Punishment Act, 2064, mentioned Law Minister Gurung.

He added that the government was committed to provide justice to the conflict victims waiting for justice since long, saying Rs 314 million has been allocated to take the activities related to the peace process to a logical conclusion as soon as possible.

Law Minister Gurung shared that different acts including the Federal Civil Service Act, Education Act, among other Acts, are in the process of formulation.
