Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, has said that the government would make the construction companies that are delaying the construction jobs more responsible to complete the construction projects at the earliest possible time instead of scrapping the contracts.

During a meeting with journalists reporting the infrastructure beat at the Ministry on Tuesday, Minister Jwala shared that the construction companies would be asked to complete construction works in time as it would be equally difficult to forward activities through another construction company by scrapping the contract deal with existing construction companies.

Minister Jwala mentioned that discussions were held as problems surfaced in some projects invested by Indian investors. He further said, "Contract agreements will be scrapped if it was not possible to convince the construction companies for timely completion of works."

The Minister said he took the initiative to resolve the issues immediately after news dissemination on the registration issue of the Nepal-manufactured vehicles.

He viewed that different types of initiatives have been started for the reforms in the public transport sector stating that preparations have been made to remove dillydallying in printing the driving license and to print embossed number plates in the Nepali language.

A plan has been forwarded to renew driving licenses every 10 years against five years, added Minister Jwala.

Similarly, Secretary of the Ministry, Keshav Kumar Sharma, said the deadline for national pride projects including postal and mid-hill highways should be extended.
