KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has vowed to take stringent action against those involved in the violent attacks on journalists and media houses during the March 28 protest at Tinkune, Kathmandu.

He assured that a thorough investigation would expose the individuals responsible for the assaults.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to justice, Minister Lekhak received a memorandum from the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), which called for a comprehensive inquiry into the incidents.

Describing the protest as chaotic and lacking ideology, he stated that the mob deliberately targeted media personnel and institutions.

“The attackers went beyond all limits, making journalists and media organizations the direct victims. The government is taking this issue very seriously,” he asserted.

Additionally, he informed the delegation about the relief support allocated for the family of journalist Suresh Rajak, who lost his life, and for another journalist who was injured during the attack.
