HoR Speaker urges political parties for optimistic role

Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota has pointed out the need for an optimistic role of political parties in the present context. 

Speaking at a programme organised to confer certificates to the newly elected officer bearers of the Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ) Sindhupalchowk chapter here Thursday, Speaker Sapkota reminded that freedoms are inherent and press freedom means democracy.

On a different note, the Speaker viewed that it was his responsibility to ensure protection to the people displaced from the landslides that occurred at Bahrabise, Lidi, and Nakbuche in the district. Such crisis should be tackled in a concerted and planned manner, he added.

Also speaking on the occasion was the newly elected chairperson of the FNJ district chapter Jiban Shrestha. He said the new committee under his leadership would work for the rights of working journalists in the district.
