Identification of the body found in Dolpa as NA Major Pandit

Major General Bimal Pandit's body was recovered in Dolpa on Tuesday, and it has been confirmed to be his.

Major Bimal Pandit, a soldier in the Nepal Army who had been missing for 16 days, was found dead on Tuesday in Karbagad, close to the Bheri River.

The lifeless body of Major Pandit was found on the Bheri River's banks at Karbagad, Dolpa, not far from Chindebagar.

Sibamal Sarki, better known as Parimal, a resident of Tripurasundari-5, discovered the horrifying discovery and immediately informed the Khadang police station.

Around six in the morning, Sarki was fishing near the Bheri River when he stumbled upon the corpse.

The district police headquarters was swiftly alerted once the Khadang police received the information. In response, Major Ravi Shah and a team of Nepal Army troops under the direction of DSP Shiva Budhathoki quickly traveled to the Chindebagar area armed with rescue supplies.

The corpse of Major Pandit was recognized while being accompanied by the deceased's father and brother, who had also arrived at the scene with Nepal Army soldiers. Along with him, his personal effects, including a watch and a ring, were found.

The deceased's body is being sent to the District Hospital Dunai for a post-mortem examination, according to DSP Budhathoki.

Major Bimal Pandit, 38, a native of Kathmandu's Kageshwori Manohara-Danchhi, was serving in the Dolpa region at the time of his abduction. On August 27, around 4 o'clock, he was last seen.
