Governor of Province 1 Somnath Adhikari 'Pyasi' has today offered best wishes on the occasion of the Jitiya festival

Jitiya is one of the biggest festivals celebrated by married women from the Tharu community. In general, it falls on the seventh, eighth, and ninth day of the waning moon in the Nepali month of Ashwin. People from other communities living in harmony with the Tharu community also observe the festival.

During the three-day-long festival, devotees fast for the prosperity, good health, and longevity of their families.

The province chief Adhikari in a message of greetings offered the hope that Nepali sisters and brothers come together to strengthen fraternity and tolerance among all communities and for the development and conservation of Nepali original culture and tradition while urging stakeholders to conserve the popularity of the festival.
