The Chitwan National Park is going to stop the tourist activities inside the park from June 15. The activities including jungle safari and jungle walk inside the park are being stopped.

According to the park's information officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the activities have been halted due to deterioration of unpaved forest paths, flooding of small rivers and streams in the forest and obstruction of the road due to falling trees. "Tourist activities have been suspended until further notice," he said. The park stops such activities during the rainy season every year. He also informed that the boat safari on Rapti river has been stopped. It has been closed due to the risk of boat safari during the rainy season.

The park has collected revenue of Rs 8,17,83,000. At that time, one lakh 59 thousand 881 tourists had visited the park. Of them, 136,522 are from Nepal, 10,934 from SAARC countries and 12,425 from other countries, according to the park. During the same period, jeep safaris have been conducted in the forest for about 241.40 thousand times. The main income of the park is forest safari from tourists.
