Businessmen have objected to the notice issued by the metropolis to remove the Goat Market located at 14 - Kalanki, Kathmandu. Janak Kumar Khadka, President of Kathmandu Chaupaya Purchase and Sale Pvt. said, "The city issued a notice to move Khasi Bazaar (Goat Market) without any information.

He says that the market is ready to move if mistakes and weaknesses are found that cannot be corrected while monitoring. Khadka said that it was not conducted by a single person, but because many people were involved in it, it will not be removed even if the metropolis asks to remove it.

The metropolis issued a notice to move Khasi Bazar without any information. Even though we were asked to move the market due to garbage, we did not do such garbage.

19 stalls are registered and operating in this Khasi Bazaar (Goat Market). According to Khadka, the president of Kathmandu Buying and Selling Chaupaya Pvt. Ltd., although a notice was issued to move this market due to garbage, the real reason is different.

He said, 'Some people have insisted that a new khasi market has been opened in Chandragiri municipality and because the khasi market is not being sold, it should be removed. It is not right for the metropolis to issue information like this without monitoring this area.

He said that the citizens around this area have not complained about the problem caused by the Khasi Bazaar so far. Khadka said that it is surprising that a citizen from one and a half kilometers away will affect us.

"When the city comes and monitors, if we have made some weaknesses, we correct them. We cannot move this Khasi Bazar to another place within 15 days," he said. Khadka claims that there is no reason to move the market after many discussions in the ward office, and the petitioner left the meeting with many excuses, so it is just a trick to say that the market should be removed.

An organization called "Clean Nepal" has been managing the dead goats in this market spread over eight acres of land for 15,000 per month. On the eve of Dashain, when the metropolis moved the market, various doubts arose.

Before the Kathmandu Metropolitan City issued a notice to remove the Khasi Bazaar, Kathmandu Chaupaya Purchase and Sale Pvt. In the letter posted on July 9, the metropolis showed no interest in meeting and discussing. Khadka said that neither monitoring was done nor instructions were given to improve anything.

There is a constitutional provision that the Judicial Committee under the coordination of the Deputy Mayor should resolve such problems in particular. But the Deputy Mayor of the metropolis, Sunita Dangol, has not shown any interest in this, Pvt. Ltd. alleges.

This Khasi Bazaar has been operating since 23 years ago. This land is also private and the metropolis has issued a notice to remove the khasi bazar within 15 days saying that the problem has arisen due to stray cattle. The organization also complains that the metropolis did not say anything about the khasi bazaar in Tukucha, which is located on government land, but now suddenly said to remove this khasi bazaar for no reason.

According to the organization, in the letter written to the metropolis, it is mentioned that about 60 percent of the demand of the general consumers of the metropolis will be supplied from this market. Goats and sheep are brought to this market from around 35 districts of the country.

Locals say that there is not so much garbage because there is also an arrangement of workers to manage the excreta and weeds coming out of Khasi Bazaar.

Puspa Poudel has been living in Khasibajar for four years. But he said that he did not have much problem due to Khasibazar. He said, "It has been four years since I started living here, but so far there has been no such problem due to this khasi bazar." They keep the khasis tied. Even the garbage is not that much.

Similarly, another Sumana Thapa has been doing business here for three years. The market here has not caused much problem to him either. He says, 'There is no such garbage in the neighborhood.
