Labor Minister Shrestha going to UAE

A joint committee is set to talk about the prob

A Nepali delegation led by Labor Minister Krishna Kumar Shrestha is scheduled to leave for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today to meet the meeting of the Joint Committee of Nepal and the UAE and resolve the issue of Nepalis stranded in the UAE on their 'visit visa'.

 During the visit, Minister Shrestha is scheduled to hold discussions with his UAE counterpart, high-ranking officials and Nepali workers, according to the Secretariat of Minister Shrestha. On Tuesday, Minister Shrestha will hold talks with UAE Minister of Human Resources Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdul Manan Al Awar on the solution of the problem of the visit visa.

He will address the inaugural session of the Nepal-UAE Joint Committee meeting on behalf of Nepal on Tuesday. Joint Secretary Rajiv Pokharel will lead the Nepali delegation in the joint committee meeting. The meeting will discuss the solution to the problems that have arisen in the implementation of the labor agreement between Nepal and UAE in 2019.

Minister Shrestha is scheduled to discuss with the Nepali community the problems and solutions faced by Nepali workers at the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. The Nepali delegation is scheduled to visit the government-run Migrant Domestic Workers Service Provider (TADVIR Center) in Dubai on Wednesday.

A Nepali delegation led by Minister Shrestha will leave UAE on Thursday evening to discuss labor understanding between Nepal and Seychelles and employment opportunities for Nepalis.

According to the Secretariat of Minister Shrestha, the demands of Nepali workers and the proposal of bilateral labor agreement received from the Republic of Seychelles and additional employment opportunities will be discussed with the top officials there.

After concluding his visit to Seychelles, the Nepali delegation is scheduled to visit Qatar on Sunday and hold high-level discussions on renewing the labor agreement with Qatar on Monday. The Nepali delegation led by Minister Shrestha will return home on April 23.

The delegation includes Labor Secretary Eknarayan Aryal, Joint Secretary Rajiv Pokhrel, Deputy Secretary Dr Thaneshwor Bhusal, Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Prakash Adhikari and Central Bureau of Investigation Deputy Superintendent of Police Roshan Khadka. According to the Ministry, the Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also been included in the team to bring the persons / institutions taking visit visas under the ambit of law.
