Lawmakers attending the House of Representatives session today have been divided over the government's policies and programmes for the next fiscal year, 2022\23 presented in the federal parliament. Those from the ruling parties have favoured them while others from opposition parties opposed. President Bidya Devi Bhandari on May 24 tabled the policies and programmes.

Main opposition CPN (UML) leader Ishwor Pokharel accused the incumbent government of failure to run the neutral foreign policy and of accommodating policies and programmes adopted by the erstwhile government.

But, Nepali Congress's leader Dr Minendra Prasad Rijal challenged the UML of repelling the government's policies and programmes if they considered them theirs.

He also accused the UML of creating a propaganda being affected by their election results, and wasting a four years' time when they were in the government.

Commenting on the policies and programmes, the CPN (Maoist Center)'s Onsari Gharti has lauded them for prioritising the resolution of country's economic problem, poverty alleviation and agriculture and industry in particular.
