Leader Nepal calls for unity

Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the country, at present, is for a common consensus and unity for it.

Pointing out the need for the elected people's representatives to work with disciplines and devotion, the former Prime Minister said, "We have come in a political playground with our individual competence and the art of speech. Triumph is not a big deal. We must implement pledges we have made with the people with discipline and devotion."

The leader was speaking at a reception organised to congratulate and welcome the newly elected people's representatives here today at Suryabinayak Municipality-5 in Bhaktapur district. It was organized by the Suryanagar Tole Development Society.

There is a need for political leaders to cater to the need and aspirations of the people, and resolve their problems, he said. Touching on the country's economy, he called for a review on the economy that is heading towards a 'crisis', and for pursuing economic changes and development activities with political changes.

Similarly, newly elected member of the House of Representatives from Bhaktapur constituency, Durlav Thapa, also the Nepali Congress leader, pointed out the need for forming a stable government for a political stability and prosperity in the country.

Another newly elected people's representatives, Kiran Thapa and Dr Rajendra Man Shrestha also stressed on implementing promises made to the people during the recently held elections. The event was attended by also General Manager of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Siddharaj Rai, the Press Council Nepal Chairperson Bal Krishna Basnet, and General Manager of the Nepal Television Phulman Bal among others.
