Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Kul Prasad KC today said that the provincial government is serious about protecting and conserving human rights.
Admitting that the formulation of laws related to human rights has not progressed due to political instability and imbalance, he stressed the need for making the federal government more accountable in this regard as the government has its main part in making laws.
CM KC was speaking at an event organised in Butwal by the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC), Lumbini Province.
Similarly, Chief Attorney, Lumbini Province Shree Krishna Subedi and Executive Director, INSEC, Bijaya Raj Gautam underscored the need for the government to be serious about honouring and protecting human rights defenders.
Also, the Law Secretary at the Office of Chief Minister of the province and the Council of Ministers, Rajendra Thapa stressed the need for the state to become clear on the issue of honouring and protecting human rights as it is a signatory to the International Human Rights Conventions.
