Karnali Province Chief Minister Jeewan Bahadur Shahi said the Maghi festival has helped keep national unity and harmony in the country.
In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Tharu community’s New Year ‘Maghi’ and Makar Sankrantii today, CM Shahi expressed his confidence that the festival would deepen mutual harmony, trust, unity, love, and fraternity among the Nepali people.
Extending best wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters at home and abroad on Maghi festival, he urged all to follow health safety protocol in view of the rise of coronavirus infection while celebrating the festival.
The Karnali province has been granting public holiday on the day to enable the celebration of the festival for the last two years.
