Malangawa Daytime Prohibitory Order Lifted

 Prohibitory order imposed in Malangawa of Sarlahi district for the past five days has been lifted during day time. However, the prohibitory order has remained unchanged in the night.

A meeting held at the District Administration Office, Sarlahi, this morning decided to lift the prohibitory order imposed from 10:00 pm on September 21 during day time but to give continuity to it during night. The DAO has been slapping the prohibitory order from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am during night. The prohibitory order was issued from 10:00 pm on September 21 until further notice after a clash took place between two communities in Malangawa while immersing an idol of Lord Ganesh.

 Chief District Officer, Indra Dev Yadav, said the decision was taken to remove the prohibitory order during the day from today after Malangawa, which remained in tense from September 21 night, started to turn back to normalcy from Sunday night.

He further said although the prohibitory order has been lifted during the day, any types of gathering, meeting, demonstration, rally are restricted in Malangawa area in view of possible risk to the safety of the general people.

Malangawa bazaar as well as transport services, educational institutions and government offices have completely remained closed today. However, different business related organisations are requesting to open markets.

 More than one dozen people including security personnel were injured and Rupesh Kumar Yadav of Malangwa municipality-7 was critically injured when the clash took place between the two communities. Yadav is receiving treatment in Birgunj. ---
