A man who had gone missing after the Khahare River swept him away was found dead in Tanahun on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Maite Nepali (45), a local resident of Myagde Rural Municipality-4 in the district.

Due to incessant rains since Wednesday evening the water level had risen significantly in the river and Nepali was swept away while trying to cross the river. Though a search operation was launched immediately Nepali could not be found in the area where he had gone missing.

DSP Yubaraj Timilsina of District Police Office, Tanahun, informed Nepali's body was found at a distance of one kilometre from the spot where he went missing by a team of Nepal Police personnel and locals.
