Police in Mahottari district arrested a man in possession of Rs 39.80 lakh in Matihani Municipality-8. On being questioned by the police the man was unable to disclose the source of the money.

The arrested has been identified as Sanjaya Shah (38), a local resident of Musharniya Mukhiyapatti Rural Municipality-1 in Dhanusha district.

Shah was riding a scooter when he was nabbed by the Matihani-based Police Office during a routine vehicle check. They recovered the money from the scooter’s luggage compartment.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
