The Bhadrapur branch of the Nepal Red Cross Society has re-opened the 'Mask Bank' in Jhapa. The branch has brought Mask Bank into operation from today as the risk of COVID-19 has increased. Chairman of the sub-branch Gopal Giri said that the child network committee of Bhadrapur Municipality-9 and Ujyalo Bal Kal are also cooperating to run the bank. According to him, the Red Cross had set up 'Mask Bank' on July 12 with the objective of reducing coronavirus infections. The work, which was halted after the reduction of COVID's risk, has been resumed from today.
The bank has been distributing masks free of cost by deploying volunteers from 7 am to 10 am. The bank, in the past, provided both lifetime members and various donors with cash and masks. He informed that the masks purchased by donors are kept in the bank.
"Those who do not wear masks get used to it and those who are forced to walk without being able to buy a mask are given it for free," Giri said. He has also appealed to everyone to support this campaign.
