There has been heavy rain in Ghumthang, Dhap, Nakate, and around Sindhupalchok district.
The Department of Water and Meteorology has issued a warning of sudden floods in Melamchi, Balefi and other small rivers of the district as heavy rainfall has been measured in this area for the last three to six hours. The Flood Forecasting Division has asked the residents of the area to be on high alert till 10 am saying that there is a risk of landslide, in the weak sloping land.
Balchit Khadka from Chanoute informed that the river has risen a lot. Yog Bahadur Aryal, a resident in Talamaranga, was staying outside due to the flood, he said. Similarly, a landslide occurred in Melamchi municipality-2 in Nibu village last night. At 10:15 pm, the Bhotechour-Kaule road was blocked due to that landslide. Similarly, the area police office Melamchi, has reported that some houses are at risk. The police added that, those who are at risk have now gone to a safe place.
