KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari expressed concern over the dearth of skilled human resources in the country due to increasing exodus of youths seeking greener pastures.
Minister Bhandari, thus, emphasized producing skilled human resources at home at a programme organized here on Monday.
In the programme organized to bid farewell to the Dutch NGO-PUM- and launching of Byapar Briddhi Bikalpa, a new private company of Nepal, here on Monday, Bhandari also called for measures to promote enterprises including facilitation at policy level for improving trade climate, coordination for development of entrepreneurship, domestic production and job creation.
He also praised the vision of the newly established company that aspires to enable entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country through its national and international network.
The PUM that started its service in Nepal since 2001 has supported over 1,000 small and medium scale enterprises, farmers, entrepreneurs in establishing and fostering their enterprises.
Furthermore, Minister Bhandari lauded the contribution of the Dutch NGO in promoting growth of fruit and vegetable farming, dairy industry, tourism industry, handicraft, textile among others sectors in Nepal thereby optimizing entire business ecosystems.
He pledged collaboration with Byapar Briddhi Bikalpa to bolster economic activities and to create jobs inside the country.
