Minister for Urban Development Sita Gurung has directed employees of the subordinate bodies to work in a way that ensures expected results. The Minister said she was committed to resolving the issues in the Ministry-related projects.
In her address to an annual review meeting of the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction for the fiscal year 2022/23 here Friday, the Minister directed the chiefs of projects to perform wholeheartedly. She urged them to not just show the issues, but focus on finding the solutions as well.
Admitting that the Ministry failed to report the capital expenditure as per the expectation last fiscal year, she wanted the projects chiefs to explore ways for increasing the capital expenditures.
On the occasion, Ministry Secretary Rabindranath Shrestha was of the view of terminating contracts of the sick projects.
Out of total Rs 38.95 billion allocated to the Department last year, it achieved 59 percent fiscal and 65 physical progress. This year, Rs 29.57 billion has been allotted to the Department.
