Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Aman Lal Modi has informed the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the Federal Parliament that the draft of the Federal Civil Service Act has been prepared and forwarded to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs for approval.

Speaking in the Committee's meeting today, he said the draft would be taken to the Council of Ministers at the earliest after the approval of the Law Ministry.

"Work is being carried out on managing the employees at local levels at more than 300 places which were run by the officiating employees for long. The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has also kept in priority the task of preparing the criteria for predictable transfer of employees," Minister Modi said.

Stating the situation of local offices run by officiating chiefs has been brought to nought at the local levels in Madhes province, he made it clear that some employees who have been working occupying their posts for long in Singha Durbar would also be transferred to places outside the federal capital on the basis of their seniority and performance.

Minister Modi said the government has given high priority to the topics of economic reform, livelihood issues and the development and prosperity. He added that the government has created an environment of carrying out impartial investigation into the incidents of corruption and smuggling that have surfaced in the country of late.

Earlier in the meeting, the Committee members had put their views on the Federal Civil Service Act and various incidents as the gold smuggling scam and corruption-related issues.
