A man was arrested by police on charge of killing an elderly man from Ilam Municipality-2 on Wednesday morning.
The arrested has been identified as Yam Bahadur Sawa (45) while the deceased has been identified as Dhan Bahadur Rai (58), both local residents of Piplebhanjhyang in the same municipality in Ilam district.
Sawa allegedly stabbed Rai with a ‘khukuri‘ in the stomach leading to his death.
Joint security personnel deployed from the Ilam-based District Police and Golakharka-based Police Office personnel nabbed Sawa. The police also seized the murder weapon from him.
Further investigation into the case is underway, informed the police.
Ilam Police on Friday morning arrested a man on charge of murdering his wife from Deumai Municipality-4.
The arrested has been identified as Taak Bahadur Tamang (45), a resident of Okhre in Bhojpur district. Meanwhile, the deceased has been revealed as Surjamaya Tamang (46).
He allegedly killed his wife with a sharp weapon. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Mangalbare-based Area Police Office nabbed him. The police also seized the weapon that was used in the crime from his possession.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
