Police on Sunday night arrested a man on charge of killing an elderly man from Panchkhapan Municipality-3 in Sankhuwasabha district.

The deceased has been identified as Aita Bahadur Rai (80), a local resident of Sirishe in the same municipality.

The accused has been identified as Bishnu Tamang (43), a local resident of Sirishe in the same municipality.

Tamang, who was intoxicated, allegedly beat Rai on Saturday night. Severely injured Rai was taken to Khandbari-based District Hospital but died while undergoing treatment.

Acting on a tip-off, Bana-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed the accused.
