National Assembly Members of Parliament have expressed their concern over long impasse in the House, while emphasizing that the government should be serious about corruption control and delivering services to the people.

In today's meeting of the upper house, Suresh Alemagar of CPN (Maoist Centre) said that the practice of obstruction by only the opposition in the House should end.

CPN (UML)'s Devendra Dahal expressed his objection over the unnecessary honor given to an Indian controversial Baba in Nepal with ministers lining up at the hotel to meet him.

Prakash Pant of the Nepali Congress stressed that the main opposition party should present itself responsibly in the House and instead hold the government to account.

Madan Kumari Shah (Garima) of the Unified Socialist Party requested for quick and effective reconstruction of the road in Budhitola on the Bhimdatta Highway in Sudur Paschim.

UML's Dr Bimala Rai Paudel objected to the satire by 'Kamana' monthly magazine in its Gaijatra issue by linking women's uterus to the prime minister and former prime ministers.

MP Bamdev Gautam commented that obstructing the House in this way is not commensurate with the concept of people's multi-party democracy.

MP Dr Khim Lal Devkota opined that the opposition has tried to make the House meaningless by obstructing it and the government by not giving any business to it.

MP Shekhar Kumar Singh demanded relief to the farmers who were facing loss due to crops damaged by drought.

MP Tul Prasad Biswakarma claimed that even though a high-level commission was formed in the past over gold smuggling scam, there was no result, so it is not relevant to demand the formation of a similar commission now.

The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held on coming Sunday.
