NC calls for collective efforts for search and rescue of disaster victims

The Nepali Congress has urged all sides concerned to make collective efforts for search and rescue of the disaster survivors. Robust coordination and management plan among all three layers of governments are essential to reduce human and physical loss in the landslides and floods, NC has underscored.

Sudden downpour in various districts including Sankhuwasabha, Taplejung, Panchthar districts have caused huge loss of lives and property, to which the NC expressed deep grief.

The landslide and floods have displaced people and injured many others. Even the highway are obstructed, the NC said in a press statement and expressed sympathy to the victims.

There must be prompt relief distribution to the victim families, the party said, adding that temporary shelter to the displaced ones and free treatment to the injured ones is equally imperative.

The NC also asked the party leaders, cadres, sister wings to work in unison at this crisis and devote to relief, rescue and search works in the concerned areas. It has extended condolences to the families of the deceased and paid tributes to the departed ones. Similarly, the party has wished for speedy recovery of the people injured in the incident.
