Minister of Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada has said Nepal has a stock of 20 million doses of COVID vaccines and asked all who received the second dose of vaccine to receive the third dose as well.
Addressing an event organized by CPN (Unified Socialist) at Roshi Rural Municipality on Saturday, the Health Minister urged people to receive booster doses (third dose). Minister Khatiwada said that the third dose of vaccine was mandatory as the risk of the third wave of coronavirus infection was increasing in Nepal.
“The risk of the third wave of coronavirus has already increased; we have to follow health protocol and it is mandatory to get a vaccination,” Minister Khatiwada urged. Saying that 6,000 vaccination centers are working to administer vaccines at present, Minister Khatiwada informed the number of centers would be increased to 19,000 from December 16.
“I request all to visit health centers for the vaccine as we have sufficient stock of (COVID) vaccines." says the minister. Khatiwada, also a leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) viewed that all the communist parties except the CPN (UML) would join hands together in the electoral and related political activities. He, however, argued that the communist movement was not possible from the UML thus new political party was formed.
