Nepal is diverse in nature and culture with caste and religion

President Ramchandra Paudel said the peculiar culture and tradition have established Nepali identify in the global arena.

The Head-of-the-State made the remarks in his address to the artists participating in the ongoing 'Mero Voice Universe' and 'Mero Dance Universe' hosted by Intra-national Welfare and Support Foundation, America, in Kathmandu today.

Saying that Nepal was a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural country, he noted that the country was not only diverse in ethnicity and religion but also in nature and culture.

Nepal has a mixed culture of communities belonging to different families, President Paudel said, adding the combination of the diverse elements has strengthened the unity among Nepali people.

Culture has connected entire Nepali people and facilitated our unity, he said, urging all sides to move ahead embracing the same notion.

President Paudel further said Nepali people have reached nooks and corners of the globe and are being effortful in the campaign to protect own identify and culture.

Appreciating the Foundation for championing the cause of preserving shared identity, he urged the institution to continue with the campaign to familiarize Nepali language, culture and literature in the world.

Foundation Chairperson Dilli Adhikari informed that the competition was organized to connect Nepali people with their ancestral country through Nepali art and culture.

He added they have initiated a mega campaign of cultural unity among the Nepali community living across the globe and the encouragement received from the President has further ignited their mind to take ahead the campaign.

The Foundation has brought together Nepali talents from over 52 countries of six continents, excluding Africa in Kathmandu through 'Mero Voice Universe' and 'Mero Dance Universe' programmes.

The winners of dance and voice competition would receive Rs 10 million each while first runner-up and second runner-up would bag a cash prize of RS 3 million and Rs 2 million each, respectively. ---
