With a number of Nepalis going to India for various health treatments, a Nepali has been providing assistance to various patients who reach New Delhi, India for the last 19 years. Bishnu Bahadur Shahi has been providing accommodation and helping with the doctor visit for the patients and their relatives at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital in New Delhi.
He arranges and delivers food to the Nepalese who were in dire straits during the COVID outbreak. Shahi had set up Bishnu Social Service to help people and this organization has so far helped the cancer patients by collecting around Rs 9 million.
Shahi of Dullu Municipality also runs a travel agency on Sombazar Road near Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital Rohini in New Delhi, India.
