NFPJ new leadership calls on PM Oli

KATHMANDU: The newly elected executive committee of the National Forum of Photojournalists (NFPJ) called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday. The delegation, led by NFPJ President Pradeep Raj Onta, reached the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar.

During the meeting, the NFPJ submitted a nine-point memorandum to the Prime Minister, urging the government to support and promote the rights of photojournalists. The forum also called for the establishment of a photo museum to preserve the history and contributions of photojournalism in Nepal.

Besides, the NFPJ stressed the need for the government to ensure insurance including health coverage for photojournalists, provide professional training opportunities, and offer subsidized loans for the purchase of cameras and other communication equipment.

In response, Prime Minister Oli congratulated the newly elected NFPJ leadership and assured them of the government's support to address the concerns and needs of photojournalists in the country.
