Police arrested a man in possession of a bear's bile in Dhorpatan Municipality-4 of Baglung district on Wednesday. Bear has been listed as protected wildlife in Nepal.
The arrested has been identified as Chitra Bahadur Pun (42) of Hondraphedi in the municipality. He had been carrying bile of a bear, weighing 250 grams.
Pun had hidden bile at his home. Security personnel deployed from the Burtibang-based Area Police Office arrested Pun after seizing bile during the house raid.
Pun will be tried under National Park and Wildlife Conservation Act (2029). Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, informed police.
