The technical problem that emerged in the verification process for the issuance of an electronic passport has been resolved. The passport issuance service was affected following a technical issue on January 1.
The data of the service-seekers entered into the system for passport issuance hit a snag while verifying it.
Soon after the technical issue occurred affecting the service, a technical team, under the directive of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, inspected the Department and mobilized the technicians from the Department of Information Technology.
Similarly, three technicians were mobilized by the Idemia Company to identify the hitch which managed to troubleshoot the technical issue, thereby resuming the passport issuance process.
PM Dahal, after assuming office on December 25, 2022, issued 30-point directives to the government ministries and their subordinate bodies on various topics including making public services prompt and efficient.
The newly appointed Head of the Government had also directed the secretaries to enable an environment for the service-seekers to avail of public services without having to face the hassle and line up in a queue for hours.
