Plane Crash: 4 still missing, search ongoing

So far, 68 bodies have been found from the plane crash in Pokhara, while the condition of 4 is still unknown. District Administration Office, Kaski has informed that the search for them has been intensified.

Yeti Airlines plane flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara on Sunday crashed in Seti Khonch behind the old Pokhara airport. There were 72 people on the plane including 4 crew members.

Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed in the rescue mission. According to the security personnel involved in the rescue, 63 bodies were taken out on Sunday evening and 5 bodies on Monday morning.

'Until now, only 68 bodies have been found. We are trying to find out the condition of the remaining 4 people,' said Anil Shahi, Assistant District Officer of District Administration Office Kaski.

The body was searched for in the morning after removing the main part of the plane which was stuck on a hole according to sources.

Cranes and divers are being used for the search. The bodies has been kept at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences for post-mortem.

According to hospital sources, 38 people have been identified so far. "People without ID will be taken to Kathmandu on a helicopter and DNA test will be done," added the source.
