Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal called the Gaur Massacre Victims Struggle Committee for holding dialogue, according to the PM's Secretariat.
PM Dahal appealed to Rupasagar Devi Upadhyay, coordinator of the Committee, to withdraw the protest programme and come for dialogue. It may be noted that the Committee has been staging protest programmes demanding actions against culprits of the Gaur Massacre.
The PM Secretariat said that the date for talk has been set for coming Saturday.
As per the report prepared by the United Nations Office of the High Commission for Human Rights report published in 2007, 26 individuals linked to the then CPN (Maoist) and one unidentified individual were brutally killed following a violence ensued between the CPN (Maoist) and then Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum on March 21, 2007.
The government, according to the Secretariat, sent a request letter to the Committee for talk and said that its attention had been drawn towards the protest programmes of the Committee. Through the letter, the government called for addressing the demands of the victims at the earliest through dialogue.
