PM Dahal vows to ease citizenship distribution by endorsing law

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has promised to lay emphasis on the construction of the Nijgadh International Airport.

In his address to a public gathering hosted by five-party ruling coalition at Mahagadhimai municipality in Bara constituency-2 in view of the April 23 by-election for the House of Representatives (HoR) member, PM Dahal said, "All processes have already started for the airport construction. Its construction will begin soon after laying foundation stone".

He also announced the establishment of Gadhimai Development Trust to promote Gadhimai of Bara as the international religious tourism area. "It would not only popularize the Gadhimai area but also promote the country's tourism", he added.

The government has started preparation to resume operation of Matiyarwa customs, he mentioned in his address.

The citizenship problem was not resolved due to the President's reluctance to authenticate the bill despite endorsement from both the HoR and National Assembly in the past, PM Dahal said, adding citizenship certificate distribution would be made easier by endorsing the bill from the parliament soon.

Claiming that the five-party alliance was formed for safeguarding the constitution, PM Dahal, also the chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre), said the top priority of the coalition government was on national unity, lasting peace, development and prosperity.

He further said that the alliance was built for the protection of federalism, inclusion and republic and assured the alliance would sustain for the entire five years.

PM Dahal said the embattling economy was gradually gaining momentum after he took charge of the prime ministerial berth.

Presence of Janata Samajwadi Party's Chairperson Upendra Yadav at the parliament was necessary for institutionalizing epochal changes such as inclusion, federalism and republic, Dahal mentioned. JSP Chairperson's win would be the victory of the entire country, he said, urging the voters to ensure his win.

Also speaking on the occasion, former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba said "Conspiracy is being hatched against democracy and it is urgently needed to make the alliance victorious to abort such ill-attempts and to protect the Constitution." He utilized the forum to urge the voters to give an opportunity to JSP Chair Yadav for serving the people for five years. As he claimed, Bara people would see a wave of development if they decide to send Yadav as their representative to the federal parliament.

Former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal said the alliance was determined to promote political stability and establish the rule of law in the nation.

"The presence of five-party alliance is for building the nation, protecting the Constitution and ensuring justice to the people," he said, adding, "We all better know about attempts to attack against the Constitution and to ruin the nation in the past and we are clear that this alliance saved the country from facing a probable ill-fate."

The leader urged the Prime Minister to prioritize the construction of the Nijgadh Airport Project, claiming that Yadav was capable of addressing the aspirations of people here if he was entrusted with the responsibility for the same.

Yadav who is contending the upcoming HoR by-election on behalf of the five-party alliance from Bara-2, pledged to dedicate himself for the holistic development of the constituency with the focus on education, health, agriculture, drinking and roads if the voters here trusted him and decided to send him to the federal parliament as their representative.

He took time to share with the masses that Nijgadh Airport Construction, roadways development and up-gradation, irrigation facilities to farmers and safe housing for the homeless are his election agenda.

Loktantrik Samajbadi Party leader and Province Assembly member Jitendra Sonal was of the opinion that the five-party alliance is capable of addressing the existing Tarai-Madhesh issues.
