Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation stone for the Santhal Integrated settlement being established in Urlabari of Morang today.
A total of 132 houses are being built at the cost of Rs. 300 million through the Ministry of Urban Development.
People from the unprivileged Santhal and Urav community will be benefiting from the project. The land on the bank of the Ratoholi stream in Urlabari-9 is being used to settle the homeless households from the indigenous communities, according to Mayor Khadga Fago.
The settlement spreads over an area of 31,768 square meters and 106 Santhal and 26 Urav households will get a house each. The house with at least two rooms, a kitchen and a toilet will be facilitated by other amenities like drinking water, road, power and a community building.
