KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today announced the Sagarmatha Sambaad (Dialogue) scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on May 16-18.
The Prime Minister declared the Dialogue amidst a programme organised by the Ministry of Forests and Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar held on Tuesday the occasion of the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation (IYGP), 2025.
The government has planned to host the event, the multi-stakeholder international dialogue forum, first time focusing on climate change, mountains and the future of human life.
The Sagarmatha Sambaad has been scheduled to be organised biannually.
The Prime Minister addressed the announcement ceremony, highlighting the objectives of the Dialogue. It may be noted that Nepal continues to amplify its voices for climate justice in the international forums.
Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, secretaries, senior officials and the heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions in Nepal were present on the occasion.
