KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced to expand the scope of social security.
In his address to a programme organized by the Social Security Fund, observing the seventh Social Security Day today, the Prime Minister said the Fund will be expanded in a way that offspring of Fund contributors will be benefitted. The new facility will be available after 90 days, he said.
He went on to say that in case of medical support from the Fund, any contributor whose medical treatment costs exceed Rs 100 thousand, 50 percent of the total expense will be borne by the Fund.
On the occasion, the PM said the government remains responsible and accountable for implementing fundamental rights of the citizens guaranteed by the Constitution.
The Prime Minister also awarded major contributors and service providers under the Fund.
