Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today virtually laid the foundation for a hospital going to be established in Saptari district.

While laying the foundation for Ramraja Prasad Singh Institute of Health Sciences to be constructed in Biraul of Rajbiraj Municipality-10 PM Oli said the establishment of the largest project in the district will help develop higher education and increase access to health services in the region. Along with economic activities from education and health opportunities, the Institute will also develop the area as a tourist destination.

The Prime Minister also said that he looked forward to get support from the local level, people's representatives and the general public in completing the mega project on time and with quality work. This Institute is being established as the government's policy of one institute per province, he added.

He expressed the confidence that following completion, the Institute would provide health benefits to the residents of Province no. 2 and neighbouring districts as well as Indian citizens across the border.

PM Oli has expressed his confidence that the establishment of the Academy would visibly bring the education and health sectors to a new height with greater benefits. Noting that Saptari district would have quality, earthquake-resilient and attractive structures, he claimed the service delivery would also be inwardly effective besides outward placement.

The Academy would not only create employment opportunities but also spur economic activities, the PM assured.

The government was effortful for the expansion of Rajbiraj-Rupani road followed by industrial corridor development, preservation of historical heritages including temples, border security and rescue arrangement, PM Oli said, adding the government was also opting to ensure overall development in all areas and resolve the entire gamut of problems. “Development is possible if we put our joint efforts in infrastructure development and quality production with cohesion and co-existence”, the PM added.

On the occasion, Rajbiraj municipality Mayor Shambhu Prasad Yadav pledged support on behalf of the municipal residents in accomplishing the historical project.

It may be noted that a meeting of the cabinet had decided to establish the Ramraja Prasad Singh Health Academy on 31 December 2018. Chairperson of Academy Infrastructure Development Preparation Committee, Dr Rohit Pokharel shared that the construction works would be accomplished within five years at an estimated cost of Rs 11.98 billion.
