KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli is set to embark on an official visit to Thailand today (Tuesday) afternoon.
During his visit, he will also participate in the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in Bangkok.
According to the Prime Minister’s Private Secretariat, PM Oli will address the media at the VIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport at 12:30 PM before departing for Thailand.
The visit comes at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Phatthongthan Shinawatra. While in Bangkok, PM Oli is scheduled to address the BIMSTEC summit and engage in bilateral meetings. He is expected to return to Nepal on Saturday.
Ahead of his departure, PM Oli held discussions with senior political figures and former officials, including former Prime Ministers Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Khilraj Regmi, as well as multiple former Foreign Ministers.
The Council of Ministers of Nepal officially approved the visit, greenlighting PM Oli’s participation in the BIMSTEC summit and other diplomatic engagements in Thailand.
