KAILALI: Sudurpaschim Province government has intensified preparations for the investment and development conference scheduled for September 17-18.
The meeting of the province government held on March 5 had decided to organize the conference in Dhangadhi. In this connection, a preparatory event is also being held on April 9.
A meeting was conducted in the presence of Chief Minister and coordinator of conference direction committee, Kamal Bahadur Shah on Monday. During the meeting, the ministers, former chief ministers, ministry secretaries and members of province policy and planning commission discussed the need of change in policies, laws and programmes to draw foreign investment and spur economic activities.
The conference is aimed at promoting public-private partnership. How the challenges facing Nepali youths, especially the unemployment, infrastructural development of industries and proper mobilization of resources would be dwelt on during the conference, Shah shared, adding that economic growth is the ultimate target.
