President Bidya Devi Bhandari will address the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament on Friday. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has made necessary preparations for the President's address. The President's address has been scheduled for 3 pm on Friday at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwar.
Regarding the President's speech, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' will hold separate tables in the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. After that, both Houses will pass the motion of thanks, said Dashrath Dhamala, Assistant Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
According to Article 95 of the Constitution of Nepal, he will address the joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament at three o'clock on the 27th of January. Article 95 of the Constitution states that the President may address a meeting of any House of the Federal Parliament or a joint meeting of both Houses and call for the presence of members for that purpose.
Similarly, in sub-section 2 of the same article, there is a provision that "the President shall address the joint meeting of both the Houses of the Federal Parliament after the first session after the election of the House of Representatives and the first session of each year."
The first session of the House of Representatives, which was formed after the election of the members of the House of Representatives and the members of the Provincial Assembly, which was held on November 4, is currently ongoing. As it is the first session, the President is going to address.
Similarly, President Bhandari has organized a tea party at the President's Office Sheetalniwas in honor of the newly elected MPs on Saturday at 3 pm.
