Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is scheduled to arrive in Pokhara today. The Prime Minister is arriving here for the official inauguration of the Pokhara International Airport.
Chief of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Pokhara, Bikram Gautam said that the Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Pokhara at 11.00 am. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel.
Prime Minister Dahal will inaugurate the Pokhara International Airport by unveiling a copper plaque.
Secretary General of Pokhara Tourism Council Sanjay Kant Sigdel informed that the first flight from Kathmandu with passengers will land at Pokhara International Airport at 7:30 am on the first day of the airport's operation. He said that the passengers coming from the first flight will be warmly welcomed at Pokhara International Airport.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the opening of the airport, a morning rally will be organized from Amarsingh Chowk to the airport at 10.00 am by the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality. The participants of the rally will reach the airport from Amarsingh Chowk and participate in the opening ceremony at 11.00 am.
In the opening ceremony, Shankar Raj Pathak, the architect of Pokhara International Airport will be honoured.
After the inauguration, various cultural programs have been scheduled to be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and a fashion show will be held from 4:00 pm to 5:50 pm.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the airport, preparations are being made to perform the Bhairab dance at Hallan Chowk in Pokhara at 6:00 pm.
