Parsa police have arrested two persons including the headteacher of Gurukul Panna Memorial English Boarding School in Birgunj on the charge of kidnapping and murdering a student of the same school.

Police have arrested the school principal 30-year-old Dilip Kumar Patel, a resident of Dhoni Rural Municipality-1 Ghodaur Pipra, Parsa, and his associate Shyam Prasad Patel alias Krishna Bharen, 24, a resident of Birgunj-17, on the charge of abducting and murdering 14-year-old Neeraj Kumar Dusad. Dusad was studying in grade 8 of the school based in Birgunj Metropolitan City-25.

Superintendent of Police Komal Shah shared that Patel and Yadav had abducted the child and killed him on November 20. The duo called Neeraj's father Shriram Hazar Dusad 12 days after the kidnapping and demanded a ransom of Rs. 5 million rupees. Police tracked down the telephone number to arrest Yadav and later Patel.

After the arrest of Patel and Yadav, SP Shah said that Neeraj's body was recovered from a toilet tank on the night of December 25. The investigation revealed that the duo decided to kidnap Neeraj after coming to know that his father was getting a huge amount of money as compensation for land from the government.

Superintendent Shah informed that Patel had admitted in his statement that Neeraj started screaming and he strangled him while trying to calm him down. The body of the child has been handed over to the parents after autopsy, while a search for one more accused involved in the incident is underway.

A case is being filed for hostage taking and murder against the two accused, said police.
