Nepal has proposed to increase the minimum wage of Nepali workers working in Malaysia. Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha, who is on a visit to Malaysia, has proposed to increase the wages, services and facilities of other workers including Nepali security guards working in Malaysia during a meeting with Home Minister Hamzah Bein Jainudin.
During the meeting, Minister Shrestha had proposed to increase the monthly salary of Nepali security guards to 3,000 ringgit. Secretary at the Ministry of Labor, Eknarayan Aryal, said that discussions were held between them on providing security to Nepali youth by providing training to them and providing them with more employment opportunities.
