Rain, thundershower predicted across the country

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some parts as the influence of monsoon wind remains across the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The Division has warned of the chances of soil erosion, landslide, rising water level in the rivers, floods, and flash floods in the hilly areas in the next 24 hours, affecting the normal life and transportation service. It has urged all to take necessary precautions in view of the increased risk of water-induced disasters.

Presently, there is general to full cloudy across the country while light rainfall is taking place at some parts of Province no 1, Bagmati province, Gandaki province, and the Sudurpaschim province. There is partially cloudy in the Kathmandu Valley though there was sunshine in the morning. Light rain is taking place in the hills around the Valley.

The weather will be generally to completely cloudy throughout the country the day today with chances of light to moderate rain at many places. There is the possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places of Province no 1, Bagmati province, Gandaki province, and Lumbini province. Much heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places of Province no 1, Bagmati province, and the Sudurpaschim province.

It will be cloudy at night with chances of light to moderate rain at many places. Heavy rain along with thunder and lightning is also forecast at one or two places of Province no 1, Bagmati province, Gandaki province, Lumbini province, and Sudurpaschim province.

On Sunday, the weather will be generally completely cloudy throughout the country with the likelihood of light to moderate rain at many places. There is the possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places of Province no 1, Bagmati province, Gandaki province, Karnali province, and Sudurpaschim province.

The weather update of the Division states that Kathmandu Valley recorded maximum of 28.8 degrees Celsius and minimum of 20.7 degrees Celsius today.
