KATHMANDU: The Department of Roads has initiated repairs on sections of the BP Highway that were damaged by recent floods, specifically from Bhakundebesi to Nepalthok.
The department reports that work is ongoing on a 13-kilometer stretch, with 8.5 kilometers already completed.
Repairs are being carried out at 14 locations affected by the floods, according to Suman Yogesh, Chief of the Road Division Office in Bhaktapur.
“We are giving priority to the BP Highway to maintain smooth traffic flow. If needed, work will continue overnight,” said Yogesh.
Last Saturday, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal visited the highway and assured that any shortage of resources would not delay the reconstruction process.
