The Federation of Community School Management Committee Nepal has urged to close schools only by ensuring learning through alternative means.

FNCCI President Krishna Thapa and General Secretary Gunaraj Moktan issued a statement today expressing regrets over the failure of the Government of Nepal and political parties to make the school a safe learning environment in the event of the re-emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had decided to close the school from January 11 to January 29 on the recommendation of COVID-19 Crisis Management Center. The federation has urged the school management committees to ensure the alternative means of learning in case the school has to be closed as the children have been affected for a long time.

The federation has demanded that concrete policies, directives, and programs of the federal, state, and local governments be made public for the effective operation of alternative learning activities for the continuity of learning.
