Leaders of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) distributed mask, sanitiser among other protective equipment to locals of Tadi Rural Municipality in Nuwakot district, on Saturday.
RPP leaders in coordination with party's Unity President Rajendra Kumar Upreti visited the rural municipality and instructed locals about prevention and health safety measure in an effort to raise public awareness of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team included Vice-president Pratima Tamang, members Ram Bhakta Kadel, Sudarshan Dahal, Bishnu Kumar Upreti among others.
Earlier on Saturday, the party's central members held a meeting and decided to mobilise its leaders and cadres to serve people in need of guidance and support by adopting health safety protocols.
Meanwhile, RPP has postponed its general convention scheduled to be held from coming June 5. The meeting held in presence of Chairpersons trio Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana, Prakash Chandra Lohani and Kamal Thapa took the decision considering the COVID-19 pandemic, said central secretariat chief Dhruva Bahadur Pradhan. A new date would be announced at the appropriate time, he added.
The RPP has also demanded the government to garner international support including oxygen, ventilator and essential drugs to combat the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
